Erik Smith is a prolific writer of self-help books. Some of his many publications include ENLIGHTENED RUNNING, FORAGING, STRESS MANAGEMENT, CARBOHYDRATE CYCLING FOR WOMEN, NATURAL TESTOSTERONE BOOSTERS FOR MEN, HIGH FIBER FOODS, GRATITUDE JOURNAL, GREEN SMOOTHIES, TEA CLEANSES, MEDITATION FOR BEGINNERS, LIFE COACHING, SELF TALK - and more. Now he shares his warmth and commitment to improving our lives with GRATITUDE JOURNAL.Erik defines the book’s purpose in the opening statement - ‘I think there is a time in everyone’s life where they can’t seem to feel grateful in any area of their life. They feel as though that they can’t be proud of anything that they have. Everywhere they look there is lack, deficiency, or failure. But I don’t think that is the reality. I think it’s just the way people view things. I think it’s people’s daily routines that make them this way. Their daily actions are the very cause of these negative thoughts. How do I know this is true? Well, that was me not too long ago. And it wasn’t until I changed my routines, that I was able to completely change my thoughts and eventually, my actions. This had a direct impact on my environment and the people I interacted with on a daily basis. I changed a lot of things. Mostly right when I got up every morning. Things like meditating, completely changed my attitude and my entire outlook on life. I became more presented and as a result, I become a much more confident, happy person overall. But one thing that I think really helped me do this is by writing in a gratitude journal everyday. This daily process that I did every morning really changed everything that I did. This completely changed my social interactions, my happiness, health, anxiety levels, my confidence, and many other aspects of my life that made be a much more productive person. Instead of my always looking for things to feel bad about, I changed that thinking by looking at the good in every situation. I instead asked myself, “What am I grateful for?” This made my mind give me answers that put me in a good mood. I think it’s important to ask yourself questions everyday. You just have to find the right questions. And asking what your grateful for, is one of the most powerful things you can ask yourself. I do this everyday and I suggest you do too.
Erik divides his book into the following instructive sessions - The benefits Of Keeping A Gratitude Journal, Techniques To Gratitude Journal Writing, and Ways to notice gratitude.
As with all of Erik’s books, this book is brief but covers the details of his concept – and the aspect that makes his books readable and useful is the innate honesty and simplicity of this presentation. We may wonder about the rarity of hearing ‘thank you’ when we open the door for some one, or the disappearing art of Thank You notes, or the hugs we can offer when someone is in need of support. Erik’s suggestion of keeping a Gratitude Journal helps us get back on track. And for the, ‘Thank you, Erik.’ Grady Harp, December 17

Gratitude Journal The Easy Way To Keep A Gratitude Journal Feel Amazing And Improve Your Life edition by Erik Smith SelfHelp eBooks Reviews
Generally speaking I am a positive person. I am overly optimistic if anything, but even so there are time where it is hard to see the good in people or in life. This book really helps to put the simple act of being grateful into perspective and you know what, when you make it a point to look for the good and you keep a journal of it you tend to be more positive and happy every day and the bad days just don't seem so bad anymore!
good read
Love how this is broken down to show us how to start, how in depth to write and how much better life is if we're all thankful!
I'm really thankful that I had the opportunity to read this book. It makes you realize that your attitude and how you feel about yourself really makes a difference in how you're living your life, And how you feel every day. Main points of the book are three; The benefits of keeping a gratitude Journal, Techniques of gratitude journal writing, and ways to notice gratitude. Start journaling and write in it every day. Write positive things in your life. Start by writing what you are thankful for. Writing positive things in your life will soon have your subconscious mind thinking positive too. There are four areas that almost everyone experiences by writing a daily gratitude Journal. They are emotional, Work, Social and Health. Writing positive things about yourself daily will help you socially. You will be more confident, and will want to talk and interact with people. Health. According to the author, people who keep a gratitude Journal claimed less health problems, less likely to get sick, people report sleeping better, having more energy, and feel less pain after starting a daily or weekly Journal. There is no right or wrong way to write in your Journal everyone has their own style. The author suggests, "Don't start a journal just for the sake of it", don't write in a journal if you actually don't feel the things you are grateful for, don't expect to get that feeling of gratitude if you can't first experience the feeling of gratitude, Things you write in your Journal should matter in your own daily life. Writing in a journal is not magically going to make you happy. You need to work toward that yourself. A journal is a tool be as specific as you can. The more specific you are in your writing, the more gratitude you will have for that thing. Don't write broad topics, dive deeper constantly looking around you and noticing the small things. The things you walk by everyday I enjoyed reading this book. Most all of us get caught up in day-to-day living, sometimes it's hard to see the small things in this world that we should be grateful for. I recommend this book to anyone who is trying to improve their lives. If this review was helpful to you in any way, please hit the "yes" button at the end of the review. Thank you for reading my review.
